Hello all!
I haven’t been on here for a bit because the month of April has been so crazy! On April 1st, the school had the Wegman’s Leadership Dinner for the faculty, staff, and students. I was very happy to have won an award and I was totally not expecting it. It was a great dinner and everyone had a good time. Speaking of leadership, we have had so many SGA meetings this past semester in order to get new things done as well as modify our constitution to include the Vermont campus. Relay for Life was a huge success! It was held indoors this year for the first time and I had a blast! The Inter Fraternity Council (IFC) had a BBQ and all of the proceeds went to Relay. The food was so good and so was the music. I was dancing all night… I think I danced more there then the night of the Dance Show. The Dance Show was a lot of fun and we had about 400 guests attend. Sarah elaborated much more on this in her previous post.

The American Pharmacist Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) had a lot of students rally to head to Pharmacy Legislative Day this year. Many students met with their legislators to discuss the hot topics involving pharmacy. All in all it was a very successful day for the profession of pharmacy. APhA had their Action Auction to help raise money for their chapter as well as the House of Hope. A lot of students came to bid on some great prizes… even the faculty offered dinners that they would prepare and eat with the students. Tonight APhA is hosting an Etiquette Dinner for the fourth year students. It will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn and is generously sponsored by CVS/Caremark. I will be attending while I learn the ropes of dinner etiquette while enjoying a free meal. The last big event APhA-ASP is doing for the semester is their “What Not to Wear” Runway show. I will be participating in it as they have great prizes. It will be held tomorrow night and is apart of their Professionalism Series.

This past weekend has been filled with fun. We had Springfest on Friday which is the highlight of the year. If you have ever seen the movie Grease it is very similar to the carnival in the end. On Saturday was the Rugby Tournament hosted by Albany Law School. I had a lot of fun watching the men and women play for the Tournament. Brian (one of the SA’s here) is on the team and did an awesome job! I also had Big Brother BBQ yesterday at the house of one of our graduate fraternity brothers. His house was a huge plantation and sat on the Hudson River in Coxsackie. It was so nice to go there and relax. My team dominated in Volleyball so I was happy. Phi Delta Chi will be hosting a Blood Drive tomorrow with the American Red Cross right in our school gym. We are trying to beat last year’s goal.

The semester is almost over and my IPPE Institutional Rotation will begin right on May 10th. I have to contact my preceptor soon to talk about general issues/concerns before it begins. I will be at Albany Medical Center for three weeks working for free! I am so excited to learn about Hospital Pharmacy in a real setting as I only have worked community. Well my cousin from the Marines sent me a letter and he wants to hear everything so I am going to type him one up right now.
