Hello Everyone! My name is Tyler Bogardus and I am a first year PharmD student. I am from Syracuse, NY. I came from a relatively small high school, with a graduating class of about 170. Being a first year student, I remember going through the college search process that you all are going through now. Although the process can be stressful at times, it is also a very exciting time. I can assure you that everyone who works in the admissions office, and the college in general, is here to help you through the process and answer any questions you may have.
Today was our last day of classes for the semester. The last few weeks have been a whirlwind of exams, presentations, and studying for the upcoming finals. I think I speak for all students when I say that, as much as I love it here, I'm looking forward to the break to have a little time off to relax and spend time with family and friends.
There are always many activities and things to do on campus. This week is Stress-Relief Week, to relieve stress before the finals. During this week we had a chocolate fountain and free massages available, among other things. During finals week is Snack-Attack Week, with all sorts of food and snacks to take a quick break from last-minute studying. In addition, there are many clubs and other activities to become involved with. I am a member of Colleges Against Cancer, Ski Club, and Ultimate Frisbee Club. Although academics are important, it is also important to find time to become involved and do something that you enjoy.
I hope you all enjoyed this post. I wish you the best of luck during your college search process and with your high school classes. Like I said, don't hesitate to contact the Office of Admissions with any questions you may have during the application process. Have a happy holiday season!
