I'm so sorry that it's taken such a long time to post. It's funny, the standard answer is that "I've been busy" but summer time in the Admissions Office is sort of slow for us.
It's been REALLY warm here the past few days and the high today is 90! It definitely feels like summer is here (although I would take it about 10 degrees cooler.)
Summer classes have started for our students. Being that it's my first full summer here I'm actually kind of surprised at how many students are taking advantage of them and if you ask why they all say: "to get ahead that little extra bit" or "to save myself a little time next semester." They're an ambitious group here...
Construction's also started on campus. In the fall expect to see a new library & dining hall! Two very big and exciting changes that I think are going to get the campus buzzing. It's kind of a pain on my end though trying to keep up with construction and where our tour guides can go but it's cool for visitors to see just how big the changes are going to be when it's all done. I spent time last week too setting up mock dorm rooms in our freshmen dorm, South Hall. It was a lot of fun and I got to relive my glory days of college decorating :) I think it's a great idea so that even when students aren't living there you still get the feel for what a room would look like with "stuff" in it- although these are WAY cleaner/neater than I'm sure 99% of most rooms.
Well, that's my quick update. I promise that I'll try harder to keep everyone informed about renovations and such and maybe I'll even get some pictures up once there's some REAL action.
I know that the school year is winding down for you all- enjoy your Junior Proms and Senior Balls (tis the season!)
