With our freshman moving into South Hall (our freshman dorm on campus), I’ve been thinking about all of the absolute essentials that are needed for living the suite (hehe) college life.
If you’re going to be living in South Hall, bring….
1. Shower curtain & Bath mats (because all of our rooms in South Hall have their own bathroom!)
2. Cleaning supplies for the bathroom : (
3. Shower shelves or over-the- shower head rack
4. Surge protector (for your computer, and tv, and playstation, and DVD player)
5. Bins for under your bed to keep food, towels, and any other things you may need (our beds raise up pretty high so tall bins can be kept underneath)
6. Hangers
7. Small garbage pails for the bathroom and bedroom
8. Storage rack for the bathroom
9. Rain boots for the rain in Albany
10. Bed linens
11. NO microwave and refrigerator (because they’re already in the rooms!)
12. Optional printer (although printing services are provided through our library)
13. Minimal kitchen needs such as cups, utensils, plates, and bowls
14. Dish soap and sponge to wash your lovely dishes
15. Alarm clock
16. Dry erase board for your door
17. Towels and washcloths
18. Mattress Pad (I’m partial to memory foam, I’ve had the same one since my freshman year and I can’t bear to part with it)
19. Laundry Basket (one with a handle is preferable to bring it downstairs for FREE laundry in South Hall’s basement)
20. Coordinate with your room mate who will bring the tv, dvd player and other large electronics
