Hello Everyone,
My name is Christopher Wasacz and I am currently a third year student here at Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. I am majoring in Biomedical Technology with a focus on Pre-Physician Assistant studies.
Here is a little bit about myself and my experience here at ACPHS as a Bachelors of Science student. Since my freshman year here, I have been part of the men’s soccer team and let me tell you nothing makes college more enjoyable than being part of a sports team. Not only is it a great outlet to escape from the busy academic environment here at ACPHS, but it also creates a great opportunity to make life-long friends and blow off some steam after classes. As well as being on the soccer team, I am also a member of one of the schools newest clubs, the Biomedical Technology Club. Just today we hosted our first club blood drive and we are also going to NYC this weekend to view The Bodies Exhibit.
In addition to extracurricular activities I also work at St. Peters Hospital, where I am a Patient Companion. Let me tell you, this is the ideal job for a college student because not only do I experience the environment within the hospital first hand, but I also get direct patient care and lots of time to sit down and do school work. Additionally, I know when I go into work that I am making a difference in someone’s life, and making a few bucks on the side which as a college student is a necessity. Also, as part of my program I need 1000 health care hours so I am also slowly chipping away at these hours.
So I hope I have given you a little bit of insight as to what the college life is like here. I am not sure about you, but I cannot wait for Thanksgiving break, to eat tons of turkey and see my family.
-Christopher Wasacz
