Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I last posted. I can't believe it's 10 weeks into the semester already and only 6 more weeks left! It's been a busy 10 weeks, the 5th year class has finished 2 PTPM classes and have 2 more exams coming up.
About 2 weeks ago I traveled to Buffalo with my Nephrology professor, Dr. Amy Pai and a few of students to attend the ACCP Regional Conference. It was a great experience to meet other pharmacy students at different school and to start networking. We heard from a variety of speakers, some of whom were Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Residents as well. Since I've been thinking about applying for a Residency after graduation it was great to be exposed to their experience.
In 2 weeks I will be volunteering at KEEP screenings at a local community college. Students go there and help nurses and pharmacist screen patients who are at risk for developing kidney disease. It's great that our school offers opportunities for students to use what they learn in the classroom.
That's all for now!
-Ruth
