My name is Emily Rapasadi and I’m a 2nd year Bachelor’s of Science in Biomedical Technology/Pre-Physician’s Assistant. I love my program; it’s constantly growing and changing. I am on a Clinical Laboratory Science pathway at ACPHS. My program offers joint admission to Albany Medical College Physician Assistant School, which I will be attending my second semester of my 4th year. I like all of the blood and guts of medicine so this is definitely the right path for me.
I’m from a small town outside of Syracuse, NY so being in Albany is a nice change! Albany has everything, movie theatres, malls, restaurants, bowling alleys, concerts, parks, and Starbucks. What more could you need? Everything is so close to campus and there is so much to experience here. I went to a relatively small high school where I was used to everyone knowing me by name (as well as my parents, and my grandparents…) so coming to ACPHS was not much of a change. With a smaller classroom size here, I’ve been able to make close connections with my professors and have opportunities that I normally wouldn’t have a larger college.
This year I’ve started to get involved more in the college community. During my first year, I allotted myself a lot of time to get used to the “college life” and especially the work so I didn’t find myself joining many clubs or getting involved. But luckily it’s easy to get involved and have fun here, no matter what class year you’re in. I joined the dance team this year and am involved in the peer-mentor program on campus.
Well time to go out and trudge through the snow back to my dorm and get some serious studying done. Finals, finals, finals!
