THE HOLIDAY SEASON

The fall semester is quickly coming to an end here at the college, which means only one thing. The long awaited arrival of winter break and the start of the holiday season. Although the stress of the fall semester may be coming to an end the stress of rushing to buy all those last minute gifts is still looming. I know that this year I am going to be one of those last minute shoppers because I have been so busy with school this year that I have very little time to do shopping, even online shopping. Although I must admit I have probably not made the greatest effort to get a start on my holiday shopping.

So what does the school do during the Holiday’s? I know that various clubs around campus participate in a variety Holiday fundraisers. The Biomedical Technology club, which I am a member of, is planning on adopting a family for Christmas or possibly participating in toys for tots. Each is a great way for our club to get its name out into the community as well as greatly improve a families holiday season by bringing them not only the joy of various gifts, but also a full dinner. It is nice to know that as a club we can really make a difference in another families holiday season.

When it comes to break the most important thing for me is to lay back and relax. Winter break is a great time to just hang out with family and friends and have a good time. I am a big snowboarder, so weather cooperating, I see a lot of boarding in my future.

I know that I cannot wait for Winter break, but for now I need to get back to the books so I can prepare for my upcoming exams and finals.
