Getting back into the swing of things

Hi everyone! I'm Alex Oaks, and I'm currently a fourth year in the PharmD program here at ACPHS. Just a few things about me before I get into the details about everything going on at school. I'm from Oaks Corners, a small town near Geneva, NY that's about halfway between Rochester and Syracuse. I am a huge sports fan, my favorite teams are the Yankees, and the Bills (I can't believe they won their first game!!) and I also love Syracuse basketball. At school I participate on the cross country team and the women's basketball team. In my spare time I enjoy shopping, camping, hiking, and watching sports. Feel free to ask any questions that you may have and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability.

I can't believe that we're about to finish up our third week of school which was actually our first week that we've had class all 5 weekdays. On Monday we had our first exam of the year in Medicinal Chemistry and I honestly can't believe that the class is almost over with. We really have jumped right back into all of our classes at school, all of the professional years (third, fourth, and fifth years) have already had one test a piece. On the bright side, our SGA (student government association) has planned a ton of great activities for the students for this week and in the future. Tonight there's a free rock n' bowl for all ACPHS students at Spare Time in East Greenbush and on Friday night they are showing The Hangover 2 in the student center which is also free to all students. They are a doing an awesome job at planning events for the students to participate in.

This weekend I'm looking forward to LarkFest which is a street festival that celebrates Albany. There they have music, vendors and really good food and its within walking distance of school which makes it easily accessible to all students. Also this weekend I'm going to a local apple orchard to pick some apples, enjoy some apple cider and apple cider donuts. There's a ton of things to do in Albany, I hope to fit as much in while the weather is still nice enough too.

If there's anything I can help you with just let me know. Have a great weekend!

-Alex
